SOAR Research Sets a High Bar
Monday morning December 12, 2016, the world changed. After decades of service within the workers’ compensation claim arena, a great pioneer of reemployment strategies slept quietly in the wake of a massive stroke - prognosis yet unknown. I answered his business cell phone with a heavy heart that morning. Unsure how to navigate the multitude of demands that undoubted lay head.
Some men fiddle with cars, they garden or maybe travel the world in their golden years. Not my dad. He has an insatiable appetite for tinkering with complex workers’ compensation problems. Passionate about everything to do with claims, his life mission has been to improve resources and increase accountability for post-injury employment. In keeping with that objective, a lengthy career has been devoted to leading teams of experts to build better return-to-work processes and programs. From the moment I took that first phone call, I knew I was becoming part of something special.
How do you walk comfortably in the footsteps of a legend? You walk together!
No daughter could be luckier than to have an opportunity to walk straight out of the stroke rehabilitation center, through brain injury recovery and back into work beside such an inspiration. Reemployment is now a family affair! It is my privilege to support one very special, newly injured worker in a lifelong quest to set unparalleled standards in reemployment and litigation of employment issues.
The Work Bridge Group is founded in his honor and strives to continue a legacy of excellence in advocacy for injured workers, employers and the communities that surround them.
